Judo Classes in Medina and Summit County, OH
Yudo (Korean Judo) literally translates as "the way of gentleness". Yudo will teach your child the art of throwing and grappling. It is a dynamic circular or "soft" style martial art which means you are using your opponents force or momentum against them. Yudo teaches the principle of flexibility, as in the flexible use of balance, leverage and movement. As an art, it is based on the concept of maximum efficiency, minimum effort.
Although it is considered a "soft" style martial art, the training is incredibly rigorous and our students are constantly strengthened through a series of skills, drills, falling routines and takedowns. Endurance, reaction speed, and even the strength of will are tested every class.
Yudo is a great counterbalance to Taekwondo since all the techniques involve being up close or on the floor. A student with a Yudo and Taekwondo background would have a keen awareness of movement plus would have incredible humility. It takes a humble heart to train in Yudo. Students must always look out for the mutual welfare and benefit of their partner.
