about our school

Kim's College of Martial Arts (KCMA) was founded by Grand Master Sung H. Kim in 1978. Grand Master Kim comes from a family that has produced three generations of Master Instructors over the past century. His father, Great Grand Master Suk Hyun Kim, started the chain of martial arts in the Kim's family.

Grand Master Kim decided to share his knowledge in the United States and on a cold day in February 1978, arrived in Brunswick, Ohio. He had two things in his luggage; his uniform and his black belt. He was confident that his knowledge of martial arts would someday positively influence the community that he would call his
new home.

Grand Master Kim's endeavor to improve his students and the campuses that the students train in is self-evident. His work as a leader in Ohio's Medina County has been recognized by not only his peers in the martial arts community, as when he was featured on the front cover of TKD Times Magazine in November 1992, but by local and state civic leaders as well. Grand Master Kim humbly accepted the honor of having "Master Kim Day" proclaimed by the Mayors of both Brunswick and Medina and more recently he graciously accepted the "Finest Citizen Award" by the State of Ohio. Having someone with the stature of Grand Master Kim as the president and founder of our school provides the kind of leadership that we can all count on. He is truly someone that practices what he preaches. KCMA is a school that will provide you and your family the opportunity to enhance not only your physical well being, but the mental and the philosophical aspects of your life as well!
