 Grand Master Duk San: Sung H. Kim, an 8th degree Black Belt, was born and raised in Seoul, Korea. He started his martial arts training when he was six years old under the instruction of his father, Great Grand Master Kim, who served as top instructor for the military force with his martial arts expertise in Judo and Kendo.
When Grand Master Sung H. Kim graduated from Joongang University, he was chosen by the Korean Government to instruct the Korean Green Beret in hand to hand combat where he became part of an elite military group in the world: Korean Special Forces. He has jumped off planes, lived in mountains, and survived a thousand mile march to earn the privilege to be called a “Green Beret”.
Since 1977, the year that he come to the United States, Grand Master Kim has been sharing his 45 + years of martial arts experience with thousands of area men, women and children through Kim's College of Martial Arts in Brunswick, Medina and Pinnacle. He is internationally recognized as an excellent technician, a talented teacher and a deep philosopher. He demonstrates his martial arts expertise on the front cover of Tae Kwon Do Times (Nov., 1992magazine, which boasts a growing circulation of nearly 80,000 in the United States and 40 foreign countries. Grandmaster Kim is currently the chairman of the World Traditional Martial Arts Association, and the President of Kim's College of Martial Arts. He continuously seeks to put Medina County on the map as an area of growing martial arts enthusiasts across the country. He still strives for constant improvement in himself and his students. He seeks to make martial arts a priceless investment in life for everYone. Grand Master Kim lives to touch the hearts of big and little children through sharing his knowledge as a martial artist and as a philosopher.
